Fund Raising

Running a swimming club appears a relatively low cost thing to do.  However, there are a number of expenses that add up to a fairly significant outlay each year, including:

.... which is why we have regular fund raising events such as:

We are also grateful to commercial firms for donations of raffle prizes etc. and are always on the lookout for additional sponsors who can provide cash, goods, or services to support the club.  If you, your firm, or someone that you know might be prepared to sponsor the club, please ask them to contact social@pcsc.org.uk There are a range of ways in which the sponsorship can be recognised, including publicity on this web site.

If you have an idea for fund raising, please contact social@pcsc.org.uk so that we can get it scheduled.

Ceilidh & Prize-Giving

The annual Ceilidh is a great bash - held at the Salutation hotel in the past, with music by the famous Benachally Ceilidh band.  An energetic and social evening with swimmers, non-swimmers, mums, dads, grandparents, younger (and older) brothers, sisters and school mates.  Everyone welcome to join in and experience some traditional, and some not so traditional (thigh slapping, hand clapping, foreign stuff) dances.  Excellent baked potatoes and fillings help to replace a few calories, as does the hotel bar!  A raffle on the night has some excellent prizes (including, in recent years, a round of golf for four at Gleneagles, Famous Grouse from Edrington Group and vouchers from Livingwell at Perth and Dunkeld), and raises a decent sum of money.  The huge collection of club cups is also presented to the winners of the Club Gala during the interval at the Ceilidh, in order to congratulate these exceptional performances.
