Gala Report

Twenty of Perth City’s younger swimmers took part in the City of Dundee Swimming Club’s Mini Meet at Olympia on Sunday March 19th 2006. The meet was very well attended, with clubs travelling from as far as Inverness, Aberdeen, Portobello and Dumbarton to take part. Once again, Perth City kept up its usual excellent standard of performance, with all twenty of our swimmers achieving personal best times and helping the Club to bring home the Best Club Trophy for the third year in succession! In total, our swimmers claimed 11 medals, Rebecca, Hannah and Stephen in the 11 age group, and Sandie in the 9 and under. Narrowly missing out on the medals were Sam, Brodie, Laura, Roddy, Jane and Rachel B, who all made it through to their finals and were awarded ribbons.

Rebecca proudly received the award for Best Girl in the 11 age group, with Stephen picking up the trophy for Best Boy.

Perth Girls’ and Boys’ mixed-age relay teams also swam well, finishing in the top five in this hotly contested event.

Thanks goes to all swimmers and parent helpers who took part, with a special mention for Emily, who was ready to step on the day if she was needed.

Well done to all – another fantastic result for Perth City. PBs Adam, Robbie, Emma, Camilla, Rachel J, Eilidh M, Chrissie, Ailsa, Jayne and Erin.
